MERIDIAN 47, VALLIVUE 43: Vallivue jumped ahead 35-10 with 10:27 left in third quarter, but Meridian quarterback Bryson Stout led a furious rally with two touchdown passes and two rushing touchdowns en route to victory.
Stout rushed for 154 yards on 24 carries and completed 18-of-33 passes for 234 yards. He threw two touchdowns to Nathan Morton, who caught eight passes for 129 yards. The game-winning score was a Stout run for 10 yards .
Vallivue’s Tad Gamble rushed for 206 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries and Carey Loveland rushed for 184 yards on 20 carries. Quentin Graff rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown on nine carries.
Meridian’s Bryan Johnson returned a kick 93 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter.
After a defensive battle in the first half, Bryson lines up to take the 2nd half kickoff. 95 yards later, he is in the end-zone and Meridian is up 7-0, after a Haas extra-point. Meridian then kicks off and on the following defensive series, recovers a fumble and rumbles, bumbles, and stumbles in the end-zone once again. 14-0 after Haas kick. ;-)
POCATELLO, Idaho – A late rally fell short as North Dakota beat Idaho State (2-3, 0-2) 28-25 in front of a crowd of 7,568 at Holt Arena on Saturday afternoon. The Bengal defense held North Dakota (2-3, 1-1) to 374 total yards while the ISU offense had 371. Justin Arias was 40-66 with three touchdowns and three interceptions and 365 yards. Luke Austin and Broc Malcom each caught 11 passes as Austin had 98 yards receiving and one touchdown and Malcom had 69-yards.
It was an ugly game, but Hayden made the most of his playing time. He had 3 tackles (1 solo, 2 assists) with 1 tackle for a loss when the Huskies were going for the first down on 4th and 4! Here is one of his tackles:
